Remembrance Day Poppy Painting

Fire Cat here!!

I know it is a few days after remembrance day but still, doesn't mean you can't celebrate! Here is a pretty little project to do!:

First start with a full piece of water color paper. if you cut a smaller rectangle, fold it in half and you can also make a card!!

Next, put a tape border on with masking tape, painter's tape or scotch tape. any works. you can put it on an old place mat or a piece or card board if you want.

Now add a tape hill by ripping up little pieces of painter's/masking tape. also cut a piece of masking/ painter's tape in half. than cut one of the halfs in half  to make it shorter than the other. put the tape pieces in a shape of a cross on top of the hill.

Brush water all over the showing watercolor papaer.
Next, with water color paints, ( use what ever kind works for you) make green paint watery, but still visible. stroke them on to the hill.

(If the paint puddles, lightly dab with a paper towel, then spread a little more paint over top till it's even)

Now for the sky. If your plain water has dried, brush more onto the sky. On the bottom half of the sky, brush a light orange paint on.      (Again, watery)

Next, on the top half of the sky, brush a watery yellow on. blend them together so they look like they are fading into each other or until you're happy. Let the painting dry.

When dry, peel off the tape.

Now here is how to make the poppies:

Rip off a small piece of red tissue paper.crumple it up into a ball, then unfold the ball. keep it crumpled.

Glue a tiny little pice of black felt in the center. ( If you don't have felt, use black paper instead.)

Crumple the poppy a little bit more. glue it on to the painting. put as many as you want on.

Hang it up and enjoy!!

I liked your post, despite not being much of a craft fan! Great tutorial, too!
Here's an idea: being the big Minecraft fan I am, I think it'd be cool to make a mosaic creeper.
If you wanted to, you could just do the head, or even do some scenery!
